





Rapper Jay-Z and RnB Queen Mary J Blige have announced that they are pairing up on stage and heading out on a North American tour together next month.
The double bill, called the ‘Mary J Blige and Jay-Z: Heart of the City‘ tour, is set to kick off on March 22 in Miami, with stops planned in New Orleans, Houston, Washington, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Los Angeles. More tour dates are to be announced.
According to a press release announcing the event, this will be Jay-Z’s first arena tour since 2004.
"[This is] the first time in more than 15 years that an African American male/female bill of this stature have co-headlined a nation concert tour," the pair said in a statement.
The hip hop heavyweights first collaborated in 1996, on the hit track ’Can’t Knock The Hustle’.
Jay-Z, who’s real name is Shawn Carter, recently stepped down as the President of Def Jam Records, where he guided the careers of Rihanna, Kanye West and Ne-Yo.
