August 5th, 2009

jennifer-aniston-vogueMovie star Jennifer Aniston says she’s quite happy to be tagged as America’s lonely heart, telling Elle magazine, “If I’m the emblem for ‘this is what it looks like to be the lonely girl getting on with her life,’ so be it!”

The former Friends star has been most recently linked to Bradley Cooper; since splitting with husband Brad Pitt in 2005, she has dated Vince Vaughn, Paul Sculfor and John Mayer.

“I can make fun of myself,” she says of her checkered love life. “And I’ll bring it up as long as the world is bringing it up.”

Aniston says she’s always used humor to get her through tough situations, and recalls a story from her childhood to illustrate.

“I remember being seven and asking my mom if I was as pretty as my best friend Monique,” she says.

“And with all the love in the world, my mom looked at me and said, ‘Oh, honey, you’re so funny.’ So, she doesn’t lie to me . . . She answers the question by not answering, and instead tells me what she thinks is my greatest strength.”
