I wish JLO all the best, but I do hope she understands that both the Mexican and the original Argentinean version of "Rebelde" turned out to be a huge success due to how different a concept it was. Telenovelas made to target a young audience, weren't usually like this one. "Rebelde" was different, it was something new and refreshing. Here in Argentina, we were obssesed with this whole phenomenon. You don't need to speak spanish to watch the episodes and see that what made it so wonderful was that every character was different and that they all had a set of facial expressions and movements that were unique. I hope that the american version will have a cast that one can appreciate and fall in love with, not a cast that is made of good looking actors who lack the skill to make the plot seem realistic. JLO has in her hands the option1990 of following the traditional american way of adapting a Latin telenovela and have just as good a ratings as other successful shows, or she can bring out the spice that runs through all of us latins and give the U.S. something GREAT. After all, it's Hollywood, they're the best when it comes to cinematography, they have got everything it takes to work on something that surpasses even the original version :)
