Jersey Shore’s Snooki Fined $500 Following Arrest

September 8th, 2010

Reality TV star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has been sentenced to two days of community service and has received a $500 fine, after pleading guilty to a charge of disturbing the quiet enjoyment of the beach.

The MTV star says she is “embarrassed” over her July arrest for disorderly conduct charges of being a public nuisance and annoying others on the beach.

The Jersey Shore star appeared in the Seaside Heights, New Jersey, courtroom Wednesday (September 8) afternoon, where she offered an apology to the Seaside Heights police who arrested her.

“I’m very embarrassed,” Snooki told the courtroom. “I’ve never been in this situation before.”

“You seem to be acting like a Lindsay Lohan wannabe,” the judge retorted.

Before she was sentenced, the reality star’s lawyer explained that Snooki had a “long history” of public service and recently raised money for endangered and threatened animals.

The judge gave Snooki credit for one day of community service already performed, meaning she has one day left to serve. It is believed that she will spend the day working with animals.
