Jesse McCartney Blames Nerves For Anthem Error

Jesse McCartney has blamed nerves as the reason for forgetting the words to The Star Spangled Banner at the NASCAR Pepsi 500 in Fontana, California, on Sunday (October 11). Read on for his rendition of the song…
The 22-year-old tweeted after his performance, “Here At the Nascar race! So much fun! Can’t believe I forgot the words to the Anthem! I’ve performed it 100 times. Bad Nerves today I guess.”

I'm sorry, but that's a pretty darn important song to forget the words to. And to just shrug it off as nerves is just wrong.

he sings it all the time without any problems if you took the time to view the other vid clips of ALLLLL the places and events he has sung it you would have known that…. so yea it was def nerves – he even sang it flatter and nervously that his previous performances.

i think you all exaggerating about that so he forgrt on line you right when you say that its something you shouldn’t forget but he was nerves and I believe him!

I think it's a darn shame that the "idols" that "our" children look up to, cannot remember the words of "OUR" National Anthem??? Next time Jesse if you are that "Nervous"… Hummm!!!!

jesse all i can say is everyone who doesnt believe you is a jerk. i bet they couldnt have even got up to sing much less try. your true fans (like me) totally love and believe you. just keep doing what you do and make ur non believers feel guilty and stupid for not believing in you. remember i am always here along with millions of others. we love you jesse so much. I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think all of you who took offense to this are just over reacting…….he forgot the words SO! who cares…..all of the people that are making fun of him let me ask if you were singing on national TV with an audiance that big in front of your face would you be able to sing the anthem???? ok i've lived her my whole life and i don't even know the song myself i'm hispanic and i dont even know the anthem to my country…….seriously people should just get over it every one makes mistakes…….
