Jessica Simpson Likens Break-Up To ‘Death In the Family’

Did Jessica Simpson know that her romance with Tony Romo was coming to an end? The singer was reportedly shocked when Romo broke up with her just prior to her birthday last month, but in an interview with Glamour magazine several months ago, the singer revealed, “If this article comes out and we’re not together, I’d still love him, and he’d still be a huge part of who I am today.”
In the interview for the magazine’s September issue, Simpson compared the end of a relationship to “a death in the family.”
“You go through the mourning stage, then the rebellion, and then all of a sudden you have to find life by yourself,” she says.
“Once you do that, you feel complete – and that’s the only time you can truly fall in love again, and give yourself over completely to another person.”
The singer and actress is keeping busy since her high profile relationship ended, with a new fashion line – aptly titled the Jessica Simpson Collection – in the works.
She also has a new VH1 show, The Price of Beauty, which follows Simpson as she travels the world discovering what constitutes beauty in other cultures.
