Reps for John Travolta and Kelly Preston have said they will proceed with a retrial, despite a setback in the case against their alleged extortionists, who attempted to swindle the couple out of $25 million, following the death of their son Jett earlier this year.
“He was upset as he wanted closure,” Travolta’s attorney, Mike Ossi, said. “The family wants to privately begin the long and difficult healing process – as well as to properly honor Jett’s memory – without the cloud of this litigation over their heads.”
The 55-year-old’s rep, Sam Mast, added, “We are disappointed to hear about the alleged juror misconduct since we know that the Bahamian government, the court, the other jurors and John Travolta as the victim want to have this matter adjudicated through the judicial system. Mr. Travolta has and will continue to cooperate with the Bahamian authorities in the prosecution of the defendants for extortion.”
