Judd Apatow, producer and writer of two of this years biggest movies, ‘Knocked Up’ and ‘Superbad’, revealed at the New Yorker Festival on Sunday that he once sent an abusive letter to a TV executive when his shows were cancelled.
Although refusing to name the exec, Apatow said that the same person cancelled ‘Freaks and Geeks’ and then his follow-up show, ‘Undeclared’.
Apatow caught wind that ‘Undeclared’ was facing the axe, despite being listed on Time magazine’s 10 best shows on TV, and sent a framed copy of the list with a post-it note attached to the exec in question that read:
"I don’t understand how you can f*** me in the ass when your penis is still in me from last time."
He also said that it was hard convincing a studio to make ‘Superbad’ due to it’s content, including pictures of genitals, saying, "We would hear the expression ‘fundamentally unmakable’."
Referring to the movie ‘American Pie’ and it’s scene where Jason Biggs uses a pie to pleasure himself, Apatow says, "F***ing a pie is a lot easier to swallow than penis drawings, I guess."
