A Los Angeles federal judge has rejected a motion on behalf of Britney Spears to move her conservatorship case to the federal court.
Earlier this year a state court named Spears‘ father, James Spears, and her lawyer as conservator for the pop star, with the pair acting as co-conservators of her estimated $US100 million estate.
In Judge Philip Gutierrez’s ruling on Wednesday (February 27), he said that the lawyer who claims to represent Spears, Jon Eardley, is not her lawyer and has no authority to act on her behalf.
The judge also said that Eardley had acted improperly in trying to move the case to federal court.
A request by Spears’ father, James, and his lawyer to recover their legal costs to defend against the move was also denied.
