In what was supposed to be an epic battle of the 80s revival this weekend, turned out to be a fizzer as The Karate Kid smashed expectations to beat The A-Team at the US box office. Could Justin Bieber have wielded his influence to help the movie win?
According to Exhibitor Relations, the Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan reboot will walk away with a $53 million haul compared to The A-Team’s $27 million.
Deadline Hollywood reports that Justin Bieber may have helped The Karate Kid defy expectations – the movie has made nearly double of what was predicted – courtesy of the singer’s pairing with Smith on the theme song Never Say Never.
Additionally, Bieber posted a message on Twitter urging his 3 million plus followers to go and see the flick, which may have assisted with the movie’s massive haul.

Come on,,!! its not always about justin bieber! the movie is really great! i mean, yeah, i kinda admit that the song is good and so cute when jaden smith doing the rap. but, like i said before the movie is truly awesome, so, it doesnt mean if justin bieber sing the soundtrack or whatever the movie is goin to be num one, it depends on the movie itself..

It was genius for the producers to have Bieber tied into this movie. Justin was recently voted the Best International Act at the TRL Awards 2010 in Genoa, Italy. He beat out 30 Seconds to Mars, Green Day, Black Eye Peas, and Avril Lavigne.
