It looks like CSI is about to experience a crazy surge in tween-aged viewers! It’s been confirmed that pop singer Justin Bieber will be going for the title of triple threat after all – that’s singing, dancing and acting – with a guest star role lined up for the season premiere of CSI.
The 16-year-old will play Jason McCann, described in a CBS press release as “a troubled teen who is faced with a terrible decision regarding his only brother – a decision that leads him into an explosive confrontation with the CSIs. It is the beginning of an emotional story that will conclude later in the season.”
Execs Carol Mendelsohn, Don McGill and Anthony Zuiker gushed:
“Every 20 years, a phenomenon like Justin Bieber graces our world.
“We’d like to believe that the phenomenon of CSI has had the same impact on popular culture.
“The opportunity to bring them together in the premiere is a great treat for our audience and all of its new viewers. This will be true event television.”
Bieber is commited to his new role, tweeting earlier today, “we got the acting coach here….learning ‘a new craft’.”
