Justin Timberlake has denied reports that he and Madonna are set to duet at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards, to be held in Las Vegas on September 9.
The buzz surrounding the event to be staged at the Palms Hotel is greater than previous years, with reports that Britney Spears is opening the show, with uber-producer Timbaland signed on as VMA Maestro.
Speculation about a possible Timberlake-Madonna duet stemmed from the fact that they’ve been working on Madonna’s latest album with Timbaland recently, which is set to be released before the end of the year.
Timberlake spoke to Access Hollywood and denied the stories, saying, "I am not [performing with Madonna]. It was just a rumor."
