Kate Walsh Helps Dogs In Need

February 8th, 2008

‘Private Practice’ star Kate Walsh has lent her support to a new store in Times Square, New York that helps dogs living in shelters to find new homes.

The Pedigree Dogstore, the first short-term adoption center of it’s kind, hopes to assist some of the million of dogs that end up in shelters every year across the nation.

Walsh is helping to raise over a million dollars for a new non-profit organization called The Pedigree Adoption Drive Foundation, which will provide money to animal shelters and rescuers throughout the US, to help them re-home their animals.

"It breaks my heart to know that there are so many loving dogs in shelters just waiting to find homes," said Walsh, who got her dog from a rescue home.

"It’s impossible to articulate the happiness that my adopted dog Lucy brings to my life – so I’m excited to be a part of a program that is committed raising awareness and funding for these wonderful animals."
