Kate Walsh Sorry For No Show

‘Private Practice’ star Kate Walsh has offered her apologies to fans of her tv show after she was billed as appearing at a benefit for workers affected by the writer’s strike, but had to pull out because of a promotional trip to Australia.
On Friday night (February 29), the cast of ‘Private Practice’ and ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ are hosting a live performance entitled ‘Good Medicine’, with series creator Shonda Rhimes saying, "Because while the strike is over, it will be months before many crew members are back to work. Millions of dollars in income were lost. Many crew members are suffering. And we want to do anything we can to help out." Walsh was originally planning to perform in the stage show, but has been forced to pull out following scheduling errors.
"I’m really sorry. I have a prior commitment that I tried to get out of and couldn’t. I am so sorry. And so so bummed. I hate to miss what promises to be an unbelievably great evening," she said.
"Basically everyone’s gonna be there. Except me. I cannot believe I have to miss this. Crap. Our crews are the people who make all of it possible. I am so excited this evening is happening to raise money for them and so so sad I won’t be there. I hope you forgive us and I hope you have a wonderful time."
Walsh is currently in Australian to promote ’Private Practice’ on the eve of its launch down under.

I read Kate Walsh’s entire apology letter. Boy, she sure thinks the sun rises and sets on her doesn’t she. She completely fails to mention that Patrick Dempsey too will miss the show saying that she is the ONLY ONE missing this benefit and fails to mention the star of Grey’s Anatomy, Ellen Pompeo who will be in attendance and is the lead of the show Grey’s Anatomy…Wow, EGO much Kate Walsh? Private Practice is not setting records in ratings and Shonda Rhimes is seeking a new producer for the show while Grey’s (which stars Pompeo and Dempsey) continues to thrive and the Mer/Der characters are the core of the show. Seems like when she found out she wasn’t the “star” there, she got a bit miffed. For such a charitable event, she shows a stunning lack of class by failing to mention the shows stars. Tacky just like her role on Private Practice. Shame on you Kate Walsh. You just showed your immaturity. Good thing Dempsey and Pompeo are both class acts and can overlook your childish ego. I will be attending and quite frankly, don’t think I’m missing much with Walsh not being there. It certainly wasn’t “letter worthy” With all of the “true” talent, I would hardly even notice.

Get a life Barbara. Did Dempsey take the time to send a letter ? Nope of course not he’s too busy promoting engines for cash ! And so what that she forgot Ellen - she also forgot KaDee Strickland from Private Practice.
I have to laugh at you reading things into a simple letter that was probably padded out by the PR folk anyway !
AND FYI Greys is not thriving, it is sinking. It has been slated since Season 3 & Season 4 has been crap.
Shonda & ABC are bringing back the most popular character Addie for a guest-role - which is purely a ratings ploy in a lastlustre season. Greys needs all the help it can get !!
Kate Walsh is widely regardede as one of the most talented & popular characters from Greys - why else do you think she was chosen for a spin-off ??? They are not going to pick someone unpopular LOL.
Patrick & Ellen are the weakest links on Greys anyway. Everyone is sick & tired of the whiny annoying Meredith.
Funny how the supporting cast dominates the talent, awards, shows etc. Patrick & Ellen are merely sub-standard soap actors.

WORD Jake.
Kate Walsh has already hosted a fundraiser for the writers.
Unlike some, she’s used her free time from the writer’s strike for good causes. She hasn’t been attending every free fashion party under the sun (memo to Ellen Pompeo).
She doesn’t need to apologise for attending another fundraiser that the Greys cast has to be ordered to attend.
Kate does plenty for charitable causes herself.
