Katherine Heigl Confirms: I’m Done With Grey’s Anatomy

It’s finally been made official: Katherine Heigl is following friend TR Knight’s footsteps by leaving Seattle Grace Hospital. “It’s sad,” the actress says, “but it’s what I wanted.”
“I can confirm she’s leaving Grey’s Anatomy,” a rep for ABC says of Heigl’s departure, while the actress’ own rep confirmed to E! Online, “I can confirm she is no longer on Grey’s.”
We have already seen the very last of Izzie Stevens, as ABC insiders have confirmed that Heig
l’s final episode on the series aired on January 21.
“I am done,” Heigl confirmed to EW‘s Michael Ausiello in this week’s cover story.
“We just finalized our agreement. Everyone had been working really hard to find an amicable and
gracious way of letting go and moving on. It’s sad but it’s what I wanted.”
Heigl had reportedly been asking to get out of her Grey’s contract for three years, but she says that the main reason she’s leaving is to spend more time with her newly adopted daughter, Naleigh.
“I started a family and it changed everything for me,” she says.
“It changed my desire to work full-time.”
