Katherine Jackson has won the right to have a greater say in the way her late son’s estate is administered without risking her share in the King of Pop’s estimated $400 million fortune, it was revealed Friday (September 18).
According to court documents, Judge Mitchell Beckloff said the 79-year-old would not violate the terms of her son’s will, which contains a no-contest clause, if she wishes to mount a challenge against the administrators.
Following the death of the much-loved singer/songwriter in June, his mother received 40 percent of the estate, with his three children receiving the same and the remaining 20 percent going to children’s charities.
Administrators believe that the estate of Michael Jackson will have raised a further $200 million by the end of year through album sales and music downloads.
