Katy Perry has lept to the defense of her fiancé Russell Brand, after he was arrested on Friday (September 17) for allegedly going the punch on a paparazzi.

Giving an insight into what actually happened at Los Angeles airport, Perry tweeted, “If you cross the line & try an put a lens up my dress, my fiancé will do his job & protect me.”

The paparazzi involved in the scrap placed Brand under a citizens arrest, after he took pics of the couple as they made their way through security at LAX.

According to E! News, the British funnyman was booked on suspicion of battery and released on his own recognizance.
