Kirstie Alley has signed a development deal with Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Productions, paving the way for a possible daily talk show – but whatever she does, Alley has expressed that she wants it to be "something totally fresh".

The announcement was made by Harpo’s Tim Bennet, who described the former ‘Cheers’ star as "incredibly relatable and a true fan favorite".

Alley’s battle with her weight resulted in the actress being a spokeswoman for Jenny Craig for several years, which Alley says is what makes her a perfect candidate for her own talk show.

"I’m very open with what I’ve been through in my own personal life, and nothing – I mean nothing – is off-limits for me to talk about," she says. "Nothing shocks me."
