Kristen Stewart Receives Backlash From Twilight Fans

Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella in the popular movie Twilight, has received backlash from the Twilight community. Fans have become furious after several comments have surfaced from Stewart and her father in relation to the film.
When her father, John Stewart, was asked recently why his daughter didn’t present with Robert Pattinson at the Oscars his response was, she would present an award at the Oscars “When it’s a great movie, not just one that makes a lot of money.”
In addition Stewart referred to the Twilight promotion tour as “psychotic situations” and “bulls—t questions” in her recent interview with Nylon Magazine.
While there are a lot of enraged fans out there, there are still those that are willing to defend her, including myself. While I am against biting the hand that feeds you, the popularity of the film and the amount of media attention that these young actors have been thrown into is insane. At the end of the day Stewart has the right to choose the direction she would like to take with her career.

3. She’s greedy for what the franchise will bring her professionally but doesnt want to deal with the fanbase. Very ungrateful.
4. Her father was extremely rude to Pattinson and the other people working on the franchise.
5. Pattinson has worked extremely hard to promote this film and she keeps unpicking all the good will he has created.
6. Her performance in Twilight is terrible so her comments make me laugh. Talk about over estimating your talent.

There are several issues involved: 1) as a actress being paid millions in bonus money for promoting Twilight, she should have been responsibly mature and handled the stress with an upbeat have fun with this attitude. It was grossly inappropriate/ disgusting to characterize certain fan questions as ”
“pyschotic” and to use the foul language she did. 2) As to whether she had any romantic interests or involvement with Robert, she has been consistently stating that she hasn’t even though they had a good working relationship, became friends and Robert proposed. Obviously she has proven that she highly values her career as an actress and that she already has a boyfriend. More power to her for being circumspect and loyal. But then again, Rob may be rather fortunate that Kristen rejected his marriage proposal, as she appears to have a self esteem issue/ psychological need to spurn Rob’s earnest heartfelt interest and play “hard to get,” while literally millions of young women worldwide would be thrilled.

Kristen is very young and thinks she knows what she wants. She was absolutely horrible in Twilight. All that studdering, face twitching, and line deliverly is probably what’s bugging her about the Franchise now. Her dad even said so (it wasnt a good movie) We all love the movie because of the book. But let’s face it, the acting and directing was atrocious! I’m still going to buy the DVD and I’m still going to see New Moon. But some of you are right, Kristen Stewart is replacable. I apologize to Kristen. It was wrong of me to characterize her with respect to why she spurned Rob’s marriage proposal. I’m sorry and regret my words. I should have given you the benefit of the doubt and assumed that: 1) you didn’t take Rob seriously since it had been a long day and everyone was tired and he may have gotten caught up in a kind of romantic emotional moment, 2) that you were simply being loyal to your boyfriend, and 3) you simply wanted to place your career interests over marriage since you are only 18.

no one is bashing twilight the franchise… her dad’s comment was about the oscars and why she and rob were invited. not because it was an award winning movie but for ratings.
she liked the book and cares about the project – she says this all the time. it’s the rabid fan events and the media attention and the way summit is trying to whore them out that she is uncomfortable with. she still needs to control her own career and over exposure for a serious actor is not necessarily a good thing. i agree with the author here.

Kristen is not a newborn in the entertainment industry. She’s been an actress for a long time and her family is in show biz so she knows how the game is played. She also knows publicity plays a major role in the job whether she likes it or not. It should not be a surprise to her that she has to repeatedly answer the same “stupid and bulls**t” questions or to be around “retarded and idiotic” fans if the movie is popular.
I’ve tried to ignore her negative comments and arrogant attitude for a very long time hoping she would eventually get over it but she just gets worse! She and Rob have been on the publicity tour for many months and by now she should have it down to perfection answering the same old questions. EVEN I would be able to do it! I’m not expecting Kristen to say she loves everything about Twilight; however, it would be nice if just once she would say it was great to be in the film, it’s helped her career, and to stop acting like the fans have totally ruined her life.
I also believe Kristen and her dad certainly have a right to their opinion about Twilight being good or bad…that’s not the problem. The problem is she attended the Oscars and apparently felt it was beneath her to be publically associated with the movie just because it’s not a “great” film. That’s totally arrogant and ungrateful!
Unlike Kristen, Rob has always expressed his feelings about crazy fans and chaotic situations with humor, astonishment, and concern for the safety of the fans and himself. He’s never been condescending, arrogant, or called us names in any of his interviews. Why can’t Kristen learn by his example? I do not understand why Summit or someone close to her doesn’t help out with this issue.
Anyway, it doesn’t matter because I’m no longer a fan. I’ve had enough. I’m tired of being dissed by someone who seems determined to make fans feel like fools for liking her and Twilight. I had intended to support her future projects after the Twilight series but I’ve had enough of her whining, complaining and rudeness. If she’s so down on Twilight and the fans then maybe she should LET SOMEONE ELSE HAVE THE ROLE!! Now more than ever, I totally appreciate Rob’s ability to be a gentleman, not take things too seriously, keep his sense of humor in the midst of pure chaos, AND be nice to fans. It’s really a shame Kristen hasn’t chosen to learn some of those same traits. It doesn’t cost anything, Kristen, and it would make all the difference in the world…especially the Twilight world!

I think her reactions are more than justified. She really didn’t have any idea how insanely huge this would get. I hadn’t heard of Twilight books til I saw the movie. So I didn’t have a clue either. Then BAM! Psychotic fans everywhere. I adore Kristen Stewart. She’s a phenomenal actress. She’s very intelligent, and articulate. I enjoy her interviews, and think she’s hilarious. She’s a normal 19 year old girl. She smokes, does the occasional weed, and says how she feels and doesn’t hold back anything. The situations she has been put in, have been “psychotic” and she is constantly being asked “bullshit questions”. How is she not just being an honest person. If anything it makes her real and human. People have to stop putting all these young stars up on such pedestals and turning them into some crazy role models. The stars don’t want that. Kristen would be more than happy just making her usual indie movies. She’s doesn’t give a crap about how much she’s paid. I adore the fact that she’d rather wear used clothes. You can’t get much more down to earth than that. LOL. Everyone should lay off her and Robert. Gosh, I shudder to think how I’d react if ever put in such a situation. Give the girl a break. For starters, the movie sucked compared to the book. The movie left out relevant information and important dialogue.
However, considering the fact that Kristen is playing a lead role and should be promoting the movie, she needs to keep her negative comments to herself. If I were the director, I would be pissed.
Furthermore, for Kristen to make negative comments about the story/plot in several interviews is sort of like the pot calling the kettle black. Her portrayal of Bella was poor, and her acting skills need work. She tries to ‘overdo it’ in several scenes, and in turn, ends up blinking and stuttering uncontrollably. It’s almost uncomfortable to watch.
Robert Pattinson may have landed the role because of Kristen, but he made the movie, not Kristen. The other actors were great, as well. In fact, Kristen Stewart was really the only ‘poor choice’ made by the casting director. If Kristen left Twilight, it would probably be beneficial to Summit. Perhaps then they would find someone who is actually suitable for the role of Bella (someone who wouldn’t bash the author, fans or movie) and bring in more revenue at the box office.

Kristen Stewart ruined the movie for me.
I watched the film before reading the book and Kristen's awful acting killed the entire movie.
And people were seriously worried about Rob Pattinson? He is so much of a better actor than Kristen Stewart, who is just a stuck-up unappreciative bitch. There are many other more talented and beautiful actresses out there with more personality than Kristen Stewart.
I thought Bella was supposed to be a human in love with Edward in the film but Kristen portrayed her as an unemotional and serious zombie who keeps shaking her head and blinking her eyes for no reason.
How retarded can she get by insulting the fans? IMO she can't act at all, who the hell cast her for the main role? Way to go Kristen, you ruined the entire series for me. Hey, dudes, stop being so unbelivably naive. Yes, if someone asked any normal person what it was like to kiss a vampire, we’d all be asking what that person was smoking. However the fact of the matter is, she’s an ACTRESS, she chose this as a profession, her daddy is in the business, she should be well aware of the criticisms one will recieve with this profession. And part of her job as an actress is to promote whatever they’re paying her for, and be gracious to the franchise that made her millions.
I agree that the fan question is unbelivably silly, but those really obsessed twilight fans are what keep the franchise afloat, it’s her obligation to be gracious and just take it like a man, stop complaining !
Think about it, if you worked in a coffee shop, and one of the customers was a rude grouch, would you just spit in their coffee? NO; because it’s impolite, and the money from their coffee is going into your paycheck.
Stewart needs to be realistic, and so do the people defending her; especially if you think twilight wouldn’t be the same without her, if anything she killed the damn thing with her botox-injected-stoner-face. Twilight was doing well on its on as a novel, the only reason they made a movie is for profits; as a result,everything was rushed badly, the job was done half-arsed. And whats left? an overrated franchise with a lead actress who i suspect may have down syndrome and teeny boppers screeching like howler monkeys, praying to Pattinson every night as if he’s a god.
Now, i’m not trying to bash on Twilight, i loved the series, read it before it became mainstream. But the way you people are so blinded puts the series in a light too bright, more than it deserves.
Twlight is good, but it’s not godly, get over it! it’s an easy read, but it’s not going to be remembered in a 100 years time for it’s literecy.
