Lady Gaga has made good on the promise to announce her new album title, if she won the Video of the Year for Bad Romance at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards (which she did!!).

“I promised that if I won this, I would announce the name of my new album,” the singer said as she fought back tears.  “It’s called Born This Way.”

Gaga added, “I’m so excited about it.  The message, the melodies, the direction, the meaning, what it will mean to my fans and what it will mean to me in my own life — it’s utter liberation. I’m on the quest to create the anthem for my generation for the next decade, so that’s what I’ve done.”

Gaga took home a staggering 8 awards during Sunday night’s show in Los Angeles.
