The father of late Australian actor Heath Ledger has responded to claims that his son left nothing in his will for his ex-fiance, Michelle Williams, or their daughter Matilda.
A story that appeared in the New York Daily News on Saturday (March 8) states that according to documents filed in the Manhattan Surrogate’s Court, Ledger had no provisions for Williams or Matilda in his documents that were filed in 2003, and no real idea of his financial position has been disclosed.
Kim Ledger released a statement to clarify the circulating stories, saying, "Matilda is our absolute priority and Michelle is an integral part of our family. They will be taken care of and that’s how Heath would want it to be."

Heath should have taken appropriate steps for his daughter the day she was born. Likewise, his father & family are shameless if they touch a penny of that child’s money. So much for Matilda being left with good memories of her father from that side. Can you imagine the resentment she is going to hold? Well taken care of? What a crock. Sorry, but this is just sick. No wonder Heath “felt” so “lonely.”
It is fortunate for Matilda her mother is well able to care for her on every level.

Don’t be so lavishly cretinous, Jean.
Do you think Heath was expecting to die at this point in his life? He had no yet updated his will, but I think it’s pretty certain that he would have. It’s funny that they say he made no provision for Michelle and Matilda in documents he filed two years before he met Michelle.
As for Matilda feeling resentment, even supposing she doesn’t get all of her father’s money, which she will, that is utterly crass and insulting to Matilda. As if that will be her main focus as a young woman.
