US Rapper Lil Wayne was arrested on Friday (October 5) following a concert in Boise, Idaho, by authorities who have accused him of possessing a controlled substance.

Wayne, who’s real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, was taken into custody after his concert at Qwest Arena. He is ineligible for bond, and is expected to be formally charged on Tuesday.

A deputy, who declined to be named, told the Associated Press that, "Every other phone call that we’ve picked up has been about him - people who have tickets wanting to know where his concert will be, people calling to see if it’s true that he’s incarcerated."

No official statement has been released by Lil Wayne’s management.
