Lil Wayne’s trip to the slammer has been delayed again, after a fire broke out in the basement of the Manhattan Criminal Court on Tuesday (March 2) where he was due to be sentenced.
The rapper is due to serve one year for weapons possession, but this latest setback further delays his incarceration.
“It’s not deemed suspicious but the fire marshal is investigating the possibility the fire started thanks to some construction in one part of the courthouse,” a rep from the FDNY told the media.
The fire broke out at 10:29am, with a number of people sustaining minor injuries.
