Former ‘Friends’ star Lisa Kudrow will produce and appear in a new documentary series that will dig up the dirt on her family tree – before investigating the background of other high-profile celebs.
In the new NBC genealogical documentary series Who Do You Think You Are? - which was adapted from the BBC series – celebrities including Kudrow, Sarah Jessica Parker and Susan Sarandon will explore their past to find out exactly who they are related to.
Kudrow, the show’s executive producer, will be the first actress to appear on the show.
“This show personalizes history and turns it into a gripping narrative. The most striking thing about the show is the realization of how connected we all are,” Kudrow said.
Adds Paul Telegdy, NBC’s Executive Vice President of Alternative Programming, “No other program gives this unique glimpse into the personal lives of celebrities or takes viewers on a quantum leap through history in such an entertaining way. We are thrilled to have Lisa, Susan and Sarah Jessica kick off this groundbreaking series.”
Additional celebrities are to be announced. The documentary will premiere April 20 at 8pm EST.
