Madonna and Guy Ritchie Divorcing: Confirmed

Madonna and Guy Ritchie confirmed on Wednesday (October 15) that they are divorcing after almost eight-years of marriage, with her rep saying, “It’s a sad situation.”
Liz Rosenberg, the material girl’s longtime rep and close friend, said in a statement emailed to The Associated Press, “Madonna and Guy Ritchie have agreed to divorce after seven-and-a-half years of marriage. They have both requested that the media maintain respect for their family at this difficult time.”
The couple have two children together, Rocco, 8, and David, 3, as well as Lourdes, Madonna’s daughter from her previous relationship with Carlos Leon.
Additionally, Rosenberg explained to People, “The main concern for Madonna and Guy are their children – the security of their children in all senses of the word and the wellbeing of their children. That’s the priority for both of them moving forward. It’s a sad situation.”
