Mariah Renews Contract With Universal Music

April 1st, 2008

On the eve of the release of her brand new album ‘E=MC2′, Mariah Carey has re-signed a worldwide publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), which will continue publishing her catalogue of current music and any future songs.

David Rezner, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of UMPG, said the company is "honored" to continue its association with the star.

"Mariah Carey is well known for her incredible voice, but we also celebrate her incredible strength as a songwriter and the fact that she has co-written most of her best known songs," Rezner said

"We’re honored that she has agreed to renew her working relationship with UMPG, and we look forward to continuing to promote her amazing and wonderful body of work globally."

Carey could soon be achieving her 18th number one single – tying her with Elvis Presley – when the digital sales figures of her latest single, ‘Touch My Body’, come through this week.
