Michael Jackson Memorabilia Not For Sale

April 15th, 2009

Michael Jackson has stopped an auction of his memorabilia from proceeding, after he reached an agreement with the auction house to stop the sale of his Neverland Ranch possessions.

A statement released by the singer’s manager, Dr. Tohme R. Tohme, and Julien’s Auction House said, “There was so much interest from so many of Jackson’s fans that instead of putting the items in the hands of private collectors, Dr. Tohme and Julien’s Auction House have made arrangements that will allow the collection to be shared with and enjoyed by Jackson’s fans for many years to come.”

Jackson had sued the company in an attempt to block the sale of 2,000 items, which were taken directly from his Neverland Ranch, with estimates putting the value at up to $12 million.

“It’s been our hopes to resolve this in the beginning, when the lawsuit was filed,” Julien explained. “It was in our best interest to resolve it. We continue to have great respect for Michael Jackson… I guess you could call it the greatest auction that never happened.”
