Michael Jackson Thanks Fans For Thriller

Michael Jackson has personally thanked his fans for the success of his legendary album ‘Thriller’ on the eve of its 25th anniversary, saying that he hopes the record – which is the biggest selling album in the world – "continues to live on for each new generation to discover".

Upon release 25 years ago, ‘Thriller’ propelled Jackson into the superstar stratosphere, with the album selling more than 100 million copies worldwide to date. Jackson has sold a phenomenal 750 million albums througout his career.

In a video released by his record company Sony/BMG on Monday (February 11), which was shot for the French NRJ Music Awards three weeks ago – the 49-year-old singer thanks his fans, saying, "It’s hard to believe that 25 years ago Quincy Jones and I embarked on an album named `Thriller’."

"To be able to say that ‘Thriller’ still holds the record as the biggest selling album of all time is just mind-blowing. I have you, my fans throughout the world, to thank for this achievement."

Jackson also hints that there’s new music on the way saying, "There is still much more to come for Michael Jackson. My passion for music has never stopped… It’s my hope that ‘Thriller’ continues to live on for each new generation to discover." 

The 25th anniversary edition is out now, and features the classics plus seven revamped tracks remixed by Kanye West, Will.I.Am (Black Eyed Peas) and Akon.

    Michael, thank you so much for rereleasing “Thriller”! You are such an amazing person, and your musical talent continues to amaze me, and every new song I hear, I just fall more in love with you. Hopefully you’ll bring out some new material in the near future.
