Michael Jackson’s Movie Run Extended

michael-jackson-sony-entertainmentSony Pictures has announced that the Michael Jackson concert documentary, This Is It, will continue its cinematic run throughout the Thanksgiving weekend, a rep announced Monday (November 2).

The flick, originally slated for a limited run of just two weeks, has made over $101 million worldwide since it’s opening last week and is the fifth biggest international opening this year.

“In just 5 days, Michael Jackson’s THIS IS IT has become the highest grossing concert film of all time and we are elated by the response to this special film by fans, critics and moviegoers from all over the world,” spokesperson Jeff Blake said in a statement.  “With this kind of global response, it’s clear that the motion picture deserves an extended run and we are going to do everything we can to make the film available to everyone who wants to see Michael Jackson’s THIS IS IT on the big screen.”
