Michael Jackson’s Now Wealthy Estate Holders Speak Out

John Branca, Michael Jackson’s longtime friend and business partner, has talked to The Associated Press about the record breaking $200 million deal he negotiated on behalf of MJ’s Estate.
The new agreement with Sony will see Jackson’s unreleased material compiled for new albums to be released over the next seven years.
“The remarkable thing is to make the biggest deal in history in a market with declining record sales. It’s a pretty big thing,” Branca said. “It’s a testament to Michael’s incredible talent and his music. It’s really an honor to be part of this.”
Fans can expect a bevy of new and old songs from the King of Pop’s vault, including recent sessions with Will.I.Am and Akon, with Branca saying, “Michael had a tendency to over-record. He would record 20, 30, 40 songs for one album. These are the vintage songs.”
