Microsoft Denies Jerry Seinfeld Ads Were Pulled

September 19th, 2008

Computer giant Microsoft has denied reports they pulled their advertising campaign, starring Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates, off the air early following heavy criticism.

The commercials, which only debuted two weeks ago, were reportedly designed to counteract Apple’s ongoing marketing strategy by using the funnyman and the Microsoft chief in two advertisements.

Frank Shaw from Microsoft explained, “All along we said we were having a teaser campaign.  We’re getting ready to start the second phase. This was the plan all along.”

Reports claim Seinfeld was paid $10 million for his appearance, however no confirmation of a figure has been disclosed.

Another spokesman, Tom Pilla, added, “The ads that feature Bill and Jerry have done exactly what they were designed to do. Any suggestion otherwise is untrue.”

Microsoft’s new ads will feature Eva Longoria, hip-hop star Pharrell Williams and Deepak Chopra.
