Is Miley Cyrus Quitting Music?

Miley Cyrus dropped a bombshell on the red carpet of her new movie The Last Song, revealing that she is quitting the music biz to concentrate on movies.
“I’ve got a record coming out in June and then I’m done,” the 17-year-old announced to Mark Malkin from E! News at the Hollywood premiere on Thursday night (March 25).
“I just want to work in movies,” she adds. “That’s what I like and that’s what I want to be doing.”

She NEVER said she is quiting music forever. Here's the exact quote "This is my last record for a little while. I am going to take a break from music. I just want to continue doing film. I really want to focus and perfect one craft, and that's going to be movies for me. I hope I'll do a record sometime later but for right now, it is the last thing on my mind," she said.

I can really understand her move. Heck, if she perfects her movie acting, she will have duel talent for movies and for singing…
She probably needs a break from all the touring, etc., so she won't become another Brittney Spears where so much is put on her to keep performing…smart girl…I wish her the best and will be seeing her in the movies!

Good for you Miley, you are so young you have the world to conquer. You did a wonderful job mentoring on American Idol. The contestants really seemed to strive harder because of your advice. You should do more of it, you are a natural!

She has little talent and only got a shot because her dad had a moment of fame with one hit song back in the day. There are thousands of more talented teens out there who can sing, dance, etc. She is not very cute, has poor vocal talent, and is really just average on a good day. Good ridance! I hope she likes Hollywood, but does not have much acting talent. Once her Disney fame wears off in a few months, she will go the way of Britney Spears and others. I won't miss her a bit!! She will probably show up soon in police lineup for being drunk in public. Maybe she'll get knocked up by one of the "highly talented" Jones boys. That would be a laugh! Let's stop paying any attention to these no-talent teens.

wow for Miley, if you grow up in a world where everyone tells you -you are going to do this and you can..Then go do it. When you grow up in a world with a poor attitude, poor heart, and poor feelings the idea of themselves doing great things is lost. Education, and experience in entertainment with the right set of values- this is all you need to succeed when you're young-a name in the business well thats the key ! Go have fun getting to the top- the writer.

she was a little girl when Daddy and Disney threw her on stage. what started out as a bit part turned into singing and dancing and jumping for the disney tween machine. She has grown up and has enough cash not to jump thru those hoops anymore.
She knows people say mean stuff and compare her to her daddy. hopefully she will have good luck in the movies

Hey Everyone….I thought that in AMERICA when you are "SUCCESSFULL" you get the right to chose what you want to do. IN case people don't remember. This young lady is now a "Multi-Millionaire". She can decide to just sit back, and be a "girl" and not do anything for the rest of her life, because she has the cash to do it. I personally think, that any young "star" might benefit from a little time away from the spotlight. Remember 'Pop Girl Star" -Debbie Gibson? She did the "song thing", and then, dropped out of sight. Later she decided to do "music and acting" and she has had a successful 2nd career in BROADWAY MUSICALS~!….So…Good Luck Miley in whatever you try next.

There is no way she will ever end up like spears or any of the others. She's way more talented than any of the other teens I've seen over the past 20 years. She's obviously going to end up being one of those teen stars turned big star. As far as all the haters go they obviously have no life if they're bashing on teen stars. As it goes with Billy Ray, he was & always will be idolized by many women & country music lovers. whether or not he is a one hit wonder doesn't matter. His success has nothing to do with his daughter's life. She has made a name for herself with her acting & singing. Over all my opinion of her is simply pure: Follow your heart wherever it may lead you. Don't listen to any negative comments from press or otherwise. You will become what you decide to become.

I love Miley. Sometimes, though. Because even though she can be an example in confidence, I think girls won't follow that. Girls will follow HER. She won't quit. She just wants to take a break. Miley, you think of yourself to be yourself… but won't you think of other little fans out there?

I am Emily White I do not want Miley Cyrus to quit her music after I heard that this is the last year for Hannah Montana she should not give up on her music she should do more music I am her biggest fan I am on team JONAS so that means I know Miley Cyrus I dreamed of being Miley Cyrus one day Miley do not give up on your music you are the one in my heart.
