Mischa Barton Arrested For DUI, Possession of Narcotics

Former ‘The O.C.’ star Mischa Barton was arrested early Thursday (December 27) morning on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of narcotics and driving on a suspended license, after police pulled her over for "straddling two lanes of traffic" in West Hollywood.
The 21-year-old driving was driving erratically on North La Cienega Boulevard prompting police to pull her over, with The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department issuing a press release about the "noteworthy arrest", stating:
"Deputies from West Hollywood sheriff’s station stopped a vehicle driven by actress Mischa Anne Barton after her vehicle was seen straddling two lanes of trafffic and failed to signal when making a turn.
During Ms. Barton’s detention, it was determined that she was an unlicensed driver and was driving while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.
Ms. Barton was arrested and transported to West Hollywood sheriff’s station where the booking process was completed without incident.
She is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
The investigation is ongoing at this time."
TMZ reports that Barton was released at 10:10am, with no further details yet as to future court appearances over the arrest.
