The woman passenger in Morgan Freeman’s car when the actor crashed on August 3 last year, held a press conference Wednesday (Feb 25) denying she was his mistress and revealed plans to sue him.
Demaris Meyer told the media that reports of a romantic link between the pair were false saying, ”I have been labeled as the other woman and have been accused of having caused the breakup of Mr. Freeman’s marriage. Nothing could be further from the truth.”
She added, “I had hoped and prayed that Mr. Freeman or his representatives would have set the record straight and cleared my name, but they have not done so and that is why I have chosen to come forward to tell the truth about our relationship.”
Meyer also explained that the crash “literally changed my life in every respect”, after she suffered a broken left wrist, right scapula and torn labrum and has been unable to work “suffering both physically and emotionally.”
The 48-year-old is suing Freeman for failing to keep a proper lookout, obey the speed limit, control the vehicle and maintain attention while driving.
Freeman’s publicist, Ken Sunshine, told The Associated Press, “We’re confident this will all be resolved.”
