MTV Denies Banning Gnarls Barkley/ Justin Timberlake Video

March 5th, 2008

MTV has denied reports that it banned a new music video by Gnarls Barkley that stars Justin Timberlake, due to it’s strobe lighting effects that reports suggested could potentially trigger an epileptic seizure.

The new psychadelic video for the song ‘Run’ was reportedly knocked back by the music television network.

According to MTV News, their UK station "initially rejected the video but has accepted a revised version. Additionally, the clip was already scheduled to premiere on MTV’s ‘TRL’ on Thursday and is set to go into rotation on Monday."

Justin Timberlake stars in the clip as the host of ‘City Vibin”, explaining it’s "the double number one crazy fresh show". He wears a yellow jacket, similar to Michael Jackson’s infamous ‘Thriller’ outfit.

Check out the video for ‘Run’ below.  Warning: Watch the clip at your own risk!
