Two people are reportedly being investigated for alleged fraud, after they attempted to launch a clothing line using Hollywood actor George Clooney’s name to garner publicity.
The actor told reporters in Rome, where he was promoting his new film, ‘Leatherheads’, that someone is falsely using his name to launch and promote the clothing line. "If someone tries to sell you clothes or watches that are based on me, don’t buy them," he said. The ANSA news agency has reported that Milan tax police seized about 20 garments and watches, as well as fake documentation. ANSA said the probe stemmed from a complaint filed by Clooney, and that the line was scheduled to be launched next week in Milan.
