The normally private Natalie Portman has personally denied reports that she is romantically linked to Sean Penn, calling the stories “completely untrue.”

Numerous tabloids and gossip columns have claimed that the 48-year-old actor and Portman have hooked up, with Star magazine stating that they were seen “making out” in West Hollywood earlier this year.

In a statement released to Usmagazine, the actress says, “Sean Penn is a friend and collegue.  The reports that we are romantically involved are completely untrue.”

She adds, “I normally do not respond to rumors about my private life, however, this repeatedly fabricated story has forced me to do so.”
