A representative for Nelly Furtado has denied that the singer is pregnant, after a US publication quoted an unnamed source as saying Furtado is expecting a baby, but "trying to keep the pregnancy under wraps".

Star magazine’s website states that the 29-year-old is "expecting a second child with her sound engineer fiancé, Demacio Castellon."

Gossip blogger Perez Hilton picked up the story, which further fueled its online circulation.

The ‘source’ apparently revealed that Furtado is "not very far along yet".

However, her rep has denied the claims to Usmagazine.com, saying she is "not pregnant".

Furtado has a daughter, Nevis, 4, from a previous relationship.
