Network Puts A Stop On Early 90210 Screenings

August 19th, 2008

U.S. television network The CW, has kiboshed any preview screenings of the highly anticipated new show ’90210′ saying, “we’re not hiding anything… just keeping a lid on” the series.

Traditionally, television networks distribute preview episodes of shows to the media in order to garner hype prior to a series premiere, however, not sending one out is seen by some as a network’s lack of confidence in a show.

A statement released on Monday (August 18) reads, “The CW and our studio parnter CBS Paramount Network Television have made the strategic marketing decision not to screen ‘90210’ for any media in advance of its premiere. We’re not hiding anything… simply keeping a lid on 90210 until 9.02, riding the curiosity and anticipation into premiere night, and letting all our constituents see it at the same time.”

The spin-off series of nineties hit ‘Beverly Hills 90210′ will make it’s U.S. debut on The CW on September 2 and in Australia on TEN on September 8.
