Hulk Hogan’s son Nick Bollea will stay in solitary confinement, following a judge’s decision to deny him from serving the rest of his time under house arrest or in a minimum-security facility.
Bollea is in Pinellas County Jail, Florida, serving an eight month sentence for reckless driving causing serious bodily injury, after an August 2007 car crash left his best friend John Graziano in critical condition.
Lawyers for the 17-year-old requested the transfer, stating in papers that "this situation creates an unbearable anxiety for a minor in solitary confinement", and that the sentence "substantially amounts to cruel and unusual punishment."
However, Judge Philip J. Federico denied the request on Monday (June 2) forcing Bollea to remain in solitary confinement - due to his age, he can’t join the general prison population - with no reason given for the decision.
