Joel Madden has confirmed that Nicole Richie’s battle with pneumonia is over and she is at home resting, thanking his fans for their support saying, “Just getting home from the hospital to a healthy family is enough.”

The Good Charlotte rocker, who’s putting the finishing touches on the band’s new album, posted the following message on his official website:

“So I stepped off the plane after a month out of the country, and basically went straight to the hospital for the week. But don’t worry all is well and we are home with no problems.

I was supposed to go into the studio a finish the last few vocals for the record, but that had to wait. Family first. I will be finishing them next week and the record will be all mixed and done by the end of the year. We get to hear some of the already finished tracks in the next few days.

We have always been the band that is on the outside of the scene, doing things left of everyone else, and this record is no exception. We’ve continued to try and push the envelope for bands like ourselves and open doors for bands to do more, have longer careers and not be boxed in. No rules. At least not for us.

With all the criticism has come a lot of freedom, and over the last 10 years we’ve gained alot of freedom and this record is proof of that. SO thanks to all the GC fans around the world like the ones we just met in OZ at our acoustic show, we still get to do this full time.

We are some lucky dudes, and there isn’t a day that goes by that i don’t think about that.

Just getting home from the hospital to a healthy family is enough for me but to do what i love is the icing on the cake. So thanks, and Cardiology is coming soon……”
