Hopes of a big-screen reunion between ‘Grease’ stars Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta have been quashed after the pair made an appearance at a function promoting Netwon-John’s native Australia, with the blonde singer and actress revealing, "the time’s probably gone by now".

The two actors first paired up as Sandy and Danny in the mega-successful movie musical ‘Grease’ 30 years ago, and ever since, fans have been eager to see an on-screen or on-stage musical reunion between the pair.

At a gala function that celebrated the land down under, called ‘G’day USA’, Newton-John was asked about a potential reunion between the former T-Bird and Pink Lady, to which she replied, "Wouldn’t that be nice?"

"It’s always nice to see him again," she told US TV show ‘Extra‘, before revealing that there is not much chance of getting the gang back together.

"I think the time’s probably gone by now [for a Grease reunion], but I’d love to work with him of course."
