What started out as a satirical piece of journalism on a sports website has circulated around the internet as fact, with a story doing the rounds prior to Sunday’s Super Bowl claiming that supermodel Gisele Bundchen would strip down and run naked through Times Square if the Giants won the big game – a claim that her agent has promptly denied.

According to the piece that appeared on the satirical website Sportsmansdaily.com, Bundchen – who is dating New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady – was quoted as saying, "If the Pats lose I’ll run naked through Mid-Town Manhattan".

The coach of the team also supposedly told the site, "Never in a million years did I think I’d have a problem motivating a team heading into the Super Bowl. Gisele opens her big mouth and look at em – half the guys are staring into space, the others are leering like they’ve just stumbled onto their uncles private porn stash." 

Unfortunately for Brady, the team lost on Sunday, going down to the New York Giants 14-17.

The supermodel’s agent was quick to jump on the fast-spreading joke journalism, denying that the 28-year-old supermodel made the comment to People.com.

"She didn’t say it. This is ridiculous," the rep said. "What’s wrong with the world?" 

Brady and Bundchen have been dating since 2006, after Brady split with actress Bridget Moynahan – who then announced that she was pregnant with his son, John Edward Thomas Moynahan, who was born in February 2007.
