An alleged video of Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz having sex that has been ‘leaked’ onto the web – and dubbed ‘The Pete Wentz Sex Tape’ – is actually a scene taken from a short movie.

The video of Wentz, who is currently dating songstress Ashlee Simpson, surfaced on Perez Hilton’s website, and has subsequently made it’s way across the internet.

However, the 28-year-old rocker posted a message on the band’s website clearing up the origins of the video:

"Just wanted to put the word out on the streets/the internet. there is no pete wentz sex tape in existence. about a year and a half ago i took part in an indie gore/horror short film as a favor to my friend nathan- called goodnight moon. either way im not into being an actor or having a sex tape either sooooooooo, hopefully u can deal with it…."
