





Actress Brittany Murphy died of pneumonia, the Los Angeles County coroners office has confirmed – however, the official autopsy results also show that prescription drugs were a factor in her death.
The L.A. County coroners office today (February 4) released the autopsy results for Brittany Murphy, with the report concluding that the actress died from pneumonia, but that prescription drug intoxication was also partly to blame.
Spokesperson Craig Harvey told media outlets that Murphy’s main cause of death was pneumonia, but added that iron deficiency anemia and multiple drug intoxication’s were also factors in Murphy’s death.
Harvey also confirmed that all of the drugs in Brittany Murphy’s system were prescription medications.
More information will be released when the complete report is finalized in the next two weeks.
Murphy, 32, died on December 21 after collapsing in her Hollywood Hills home, which she shared with her mother and husband Simon Monjack.
Both Murphy’s mother and husband have said that Brittany did not abuse prescription meds or have a eating disorder.
