paula-abdul-bravo-tvThe executive producer of American Idol, Cecile Frot-Coutaz,  has squashed reports that Paula Abdul was set to return to the hit show saying, “There’s no truth to that rumor.”

paula-abdul-bravo-tvAbdul left the show last season and was replaced by Ellen DeGeneres, who has fit in nicely behind the judges desk.

The real test for the show comes at the end of the current series, when Simon Cowell leaves to start an American version of X Factor.

Why do people say that Ellen replaced Paula? It's Kara that replaced Paula. I know that Kara came on for a while while Paula was there, but that was so they could let people get used to the idea, and also fool them into not thinking they were switching Kara for Paula. But that is really what happened.

On the Ryan Seacrest show, they announced this is the final season of AI. The band is leaving to go to the Jay Leno show. I really hope that this isn't the end for american idol–but all signs point to yes.
