Paulina Porizkova has become the latest in a long line of supermodel judges to be told, ‘It’s time to go’ by Tyra Banks, with the Czech-born model revealing that she has been fired from ‘America’s Next Top Model‘ for having “an ego problem”.
The ’80s-era supermodel revealed that she has been booted from spot on the show’s judging panel last month.
“Listen, do you know why I am in Los Angeles? Because I am looking for a job – because I was fired by ‘America’s Next Top Model‘ on my birthday,” Porizkova told Craig Ferguson during an interview with the ‘Late, Late Show’ host.
“The reason I was told I was fired was because, it seemed, that ‘America’s Next Top Model’ has gotten too fat, and they needed to cut some fat, and the fat was me.”
She was let go via a telephone call, she adds.
“I figured it was either that, or my gigantic huge ego. Which I wasn’t aware of, until I was told by the producers that I have an ego problem,” Porizkova says.
Porizkova replaced former supermodel Twiggy on the show, which wraps up cycle 12 this week, from cycle 10. Before Twiggy, Janice Dickinon and Kimora Lee Simmons had worked on the show as supermodel judges.
