British rocker Pete Doherty, the former boyfriend of supermodel Kate Moss, has been sent to jail for 14 weeks for breaching a court order his record company representative announced on Tuesday (April 8).
Jon Bills said in a statement that, "Today, Peter Doherty was sentenced to a total of 14 weeks in jail for being in breach of his probation order."
"Unfortunately, Peter has had to postpone his show at the Royal Albert Hall on April 26th. The show is due to be rescheduled and all tickets will be valid for the new date once it has been announced. Peter was very much looking forward to the show and would like to offer his sincerest apologies to all his fans and to all those concerned."
Doherty has suffered an ongoing battle with drugs, having previously been given a suspended jail sentence for drug possession and ordered to partake in a treatment program.
Tuesday’s sentencing was ordered due to continued violations.
