Pete Wentz Explains Baby Name

November 26th, 2008

Pete Wentz has explained why he and Ashlee Simpson chose to name their new son Bronx Mowgli, during a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday (November 25).

“‘The Jungle Book’ was something that me and Ashlee bonded over,” he says of the classic Rudyard Kipling novel whose central character is Mowgli.  “It’s a cool name.”

As for the reason behind his son’s first name Bronx, Wentz is keeping quite saying, “We came up with the idea Bronx. We’ve been throwing [ideas] back and forth a while.  It’s kind of cool to just leave the narrative what it is.  People are stoked or pissed or whatever.  And you’re like, you know what: I don’t think anyone really has the real story.”

The Fall Out Boy rocker also denies reports that his baby, born November 20, was named after his favorite car due to his initials being BMW.

“No, no, no, it definitely is his name,” Wentz responds.  “But I don’t think anybody knows what the real story is of why or how.”
