GM has pulled the pin on a new car endorsed by 50 Cent, as the manufacturer heads in a different direction due to the current economic climate.
The G8 GXP Sport Truck from Pontiac, which was due to go on sale later this year, was too niche according to a spokesperson who made the announcement.
“We always knew that it was going to be very low-volume,” Jim Hopson said. “This would have been an extreme specialty vehicle. From a long-term standpoint, especially with where the brand is moving, it just didn’t make sense.”
The vehicle briefly saw the light of day when the rapper placed it in the music video for his single ‘Amusement Park’.
